The Ryland Inn in Whitehouse Station, Whitehouse Station, NJ

Built in 1796, the Ryland Inn is a former country home and stagecoach stop. Newly redesigned with exposed wood beams and elegant chandeliers, the hospitable setting is perfect for a casual dinner, special occasion, or private party. The former restaurant was brought back to life by Frank and Jeanne Cretella, owners of Landmark Hospitality, whose other restaurants include Liberty House Restaurant in Jersey City and Stone House at Stirling Ridge in Warren. According to The New York Times review “A Culinary Landmark, Back on Top,” the Ryland Inn’s décor “is a model of how to both preserve and restore a 200-year-old building.”
